I am living in Texas and own a house. My boyfriend has been living with me for 3 years. Now I want to break up with him and want him to move out, but he keeps staying. What do I have to do. I heard about common law marriage in Texas, if he keeps staying and it reachs 5 years, do I have to split my property with him. Thanks for help.

I hate people that have such a fascination with complaining about some one parking in front of there house (it’s a public street people). I have scoured the internet to try to find the actual law to shove down there throat but have not found it thus far. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My husband and I are moving to the Tampa FL area. We currently have our house for sale in Pittsburgh, PA. We have been talking about me taking our 5 and 1 year old sons and moving in with my mother. She lives in Holiday (Tampa area). My husband thinks the house will sale faster if we clear out every thing but a bed for him and desk. Any thoughts on the house sale or leaving without my husband?
I see people think he is up to no good, but I have complete trust in him. He has never given me any reason not to trust him in our 7 years of marriage. Beside I’m the one moving close to the beaches with all the tan guys walking around. We trust each other completely and take our marriage vows very seriously.
Thanks for the tastefully lived in comment. My house is not tastefully lived in right now. Every time someone wants to see the house I spend hours cleaning. Not only do I have my children to clean up after, but I babysit too.

My husband and I bought our home w/ the help of a personal loan from his parents. We are now divorcing and he let the children (both under and I stay at the house until we found a new place. I have found a new home but the problem is that I can not move in until the 2nd week of May and the in-laws (not my ex, altho he doesn’t speak up) want us out before than. I did contact an attorney who said that they can’t throw us out and it would be foolish for them to spend $ on legal fees when I plan on moving out already. But everyday so far they come into the house and go thru our things. Twice now, I have stepped out of the shower only to walk (naked, I might add) to them sitting in my LR or kitchen. Can I legally change the locks as long as I give them the keys after we leave? They give no notice of coming over. My husband is staying w/ them until we leave and changed his mailing address w/ the post office so they can’t even say they are here for him.
The house is in the in-laws’ name which was our deal until we paid off the loan.

We’re considering building a new home this year but will require a construction loan, how difficult are they to secure if you have 50% or more to put down?

The situation is my hubby and I were pre-approved for a loan and filled out a sales contract, paid ernest money in October for a new subdivision/ house being built. However in January ‘08, my hubsand student loans went in default but he got it worked out to where if he pays the next 6 mo. the default will be removed in Sept. ‘08. Now after that on the week of our closing the loan officer called and said that the underwriters were having a problem with the default loan status. So she said they are an conservative loan office and suggest that I allow her to send it to a larger bank, where they have more options to help. So my file was transfer to this larger bank last Friday and I am waiting to hear from them. Do you think I should try for the loan myself? We wrote an explanation letter about why the loans went into default. My hubby was in a car accident and out of work/ without pay. Please help…is it possible for us to get a home loan and close by end of Feb./March?

I’m looking to take out a business loan against some property equity I have. I was told by a lender that I had to re-finance my home loan and go with them if I was to take out a business loan with them.

Am I able to keep my home loan where it is? I don’t want to move it across because of the exit fees, legals, etc.

So 4 years ago I owned a car through a credit union purchased for $5,500. About a year after purchasing it the car was stolen, I did not have insurance at the time and therefore went to the credit union to see what my options were. They said they would defer the payments until something was found out on the car. 6 months later the car was found, with only a dead battery as damage.. lucky I know. So I called the credit union to see what I could do. They said I could do a voluntary repossession or begin making payments again. They told me the voluntary repossession would not be put on my credit report and that since the car was still in good condition and I did not owe much on it everything would be fine. So I don’t hear from them until now… 4 years later.
Last year when we went to buy a home the car was listed as paid off on my credit report. Now as of 2 weeks ago, they hired an attorney to “find me” and get $1,300 from me and they put a repossession on my credit report. I don’t have paper work on any of it because it was so long ago, but I do have a witness who was there when they explained the voluntary repossession to me and stated clearly it would not be placed on my credit report.
The repo on my credit bothers me the most, but I am also confused how they get there numbers, their attorney explained it like this “the original loan was for $5,500 they put in $2,000 worth of work upon receipt to sell and sold it for $9,000.

Can they do this? Can they list my car as paid off then list a repo 4 years later? Where are they getting that I still owe them money?

OK… so my husband and I have two houses. I owned a condo before we got married and then he got the loan for the house we live in now.
We haven’t lived in the condo for 2 years now. The first year it sat vacant while we worked on clearing out our stuff. The second year we spent a few months cleaning and painting. Then we listed it for a few months but the market (Missouri) is slow. Now we’re renting it to a friend of my husband’s. My question is… I’m anxious to sell this thing and get rid of it. I was searching options on the Internet and came across sales pitches that claim to “sell your house fast!!” Has anyone heard anything bad about these companies? Has anyone used them?

What does it mean when the 2nd lien reflects “profit & loss writeoff – account closed” on your credit report?
What should you do with your current home – sell it or walk away? Any HONEST info is greaty and truely appreciated.

My friend has been living with this lady for over 2 years. They have filed taxes together, and here in Oklahoma that makes them common law married. Now, while living at that residence, some jewelry was taken from the house and pawned to pay bills. There have been 5 separate accounts of where my friend has taken some of her Jewry and sold it.
