My husband and I were considering putting our house for sale so we could try and find something with a lower note. We are starting to struggle with our note and don’t want to get in too deep. We bought it for $127,000…which is what is was appraised at, of course. We still owe $123,000. And now, the appraisal district only has it appraised at $101,500. And from what I understand, we cannot refinance either, because of that. I do not understand how a brand new home in a brand new subdivision can depriciate in value that much, that fast. We don’t know what to do…any advice would be very much appreciated.

We are 3 months behind on our house payments because my husband recently lost his job. We got a letter in the mail yesterday and have 30 days to come up with the money. If we can’t our home will be foreclosed. If we can’t come up with the money what should we do? I have tried to get a modification loan and the guy to me we didn’t qualify. What are other steps we should take? We live in Kansas if that helps.

I have lived in the same town for almost 20 years. We currently live in California but with unemployment rates and the cost of living and the bad economy we are done with this! We have pretty much decided that we want to move to Texas, we are thinking that we can’t move for about 1 maybe 2 years. We own a house and my husband doesn’t currently have a job. When should we put our house up for sale? and when should my husband start job hunting there and when should we start house hunting there? how do we plan this so that it is a pretty seamless transition? I don’t want to sell our house faster then we think it will sell and not have a job or home there and I don’t want end up having to make 2 house payments either. I also would if at all possible like to avoid renting as I have pets and that makes it hard to find a place and the area I am looking to move has very cheap houses for sale and renting would end up costing us more and that would quickly eat up the money we are saving for a down payment.
any advice would be helpful thanks in advance!

I’m looking for a lender who will finance a multi-family home with two or three units and the purchase price is around $75,000.
I don’t want to occupy one of the units.
And rents range from 600 – 750 per unit.

I am looking for ways to find copies of laws related to kennel ownership as well as, noise ordaniances for various cities in San Diego county. I do not wish to pay for what is public information and do not have the ability to leave home for this research. Please help. Thanks.
Not that I should have to explain myself but, please understand I do not wish to pay simply because this information is public record and a illness prevents me from leaving home. I am certainly more than willing to research this myself just having trouble with finding it when I googled it and wanted some honest answers from decent people to get started.

We’ve applied with a bank, brokers, on-line, etc. We have past collections, past bankrupty, past foreclosure, past repossession, credit scores are low 500. Things have turned around and we so desperately want to own a home again. We’ve been told to wait a year or so and clean up the collections, but that alone will take about 8 months…do we wait a year after that.

My mother’s common law husband died and left the house to his daughter and myself (I am not his daughter) and both his and my mother’s name is on the deed to the house. His lawyer told my mother that she doesn’t get the house since he left it to the daughters. She originally bought the house and put his name on the deed at a later date. Shouldn’t the house revert back to her upon his death? How can he give away something he does not fully own? This is in Ontario, Canada.
I’m sorry, didn’t mean to offend you Americans but I WAS on the Canadian portion of this but all I seem to get is Americans trying to answer my questions…also, I am not trying to take the house away from my mother, I have my own house…I want to ensure SHE gets the house free and clear. What a way to misinterpret what I was saying…

I am about to start the foreclosure process. I know the lenders will send mail, but is there a way to get them to stop calling my home and buisness? I heard that you can send a letter to the lender and they have to quit calling and can only contact you through the mail.

Lots of foreclosures going on, it’s understandable for regular folks to not have the cash up front. Seen celebs houses going under and repossession of sports cars: Evander Holyfield, Ed McMahon, Aretha Franklin, Jose Conseco, etc….anyone have any ideas why some celebrities don’t buy their homes outright? if you’re making $6 or $7 million dollars a year or per movie, or whatever what are reasons not to purchase your $2 million home?

I am a first time homebuyer (or hope to be) I make about $30,000 a year, I’ve been on my job a little over a year, my credit is probably around 650, and I am married. My husband’s income will go to help pay for the house payment but he doesn’t want to be included on the loan because he has owned a house that has been foreclosed on before so he thinks that would hurt our chances of getting the loan. I’ve never done anything like this before and I don’t even know where to start.
that website was absolutely no help whatsoever, I’m reporting you for spamming

Just because they lost their home to foreclosure, their cars to repossession, their credit cards got cancelled because they could no longer pay, and now they are facing bankruptcy or homelessness.
Not our faults. Some adults just make bad choices. We all have choices. If you can’t afford a BMW then you go for the ford focus or honda civic it is that simple. We people need to be less vain and materialistic. Yeah, lots of people can’t find jobs but we still have to live within our budget.
