I know that garage sale is the obvious answer, but I live kinda off the beaten track and don’t get alot of people. And furniture you get nothing for. Anybody try consignment? I have alot of furniture. Quality stuff. What about an auction? Or putting it in the paper? There is just so much to do. I also have stock left from a gift store and I have no idea what to do with all this miscellaneous stuff. Help! Which way is best?

hiya cool hal. are you saying that repossessed people get rehoused by housing associations? thats better than a box i think.
theres one thing cool hal that i like about you even though you support brown??? and that is your reasonable-ness. unlike the other resident labour supporter who has changed his name, he is spiteful and unpleasant.

We have arrears of £5,900. This is due to my partner having an accident at work 3 yrs ago. The contractual monthly amount is being met by income support. The amount required each month is £146.72. The amount being paid by income support is £186.88 every 4 weeks. Even though the mortgage company are receiving the monthly amount and some extra to bring down the arrears each month, they are still pursuing repossession of our home. My partner is claiming for his accident which happened 3yrs ago we have provided the mortgage company with a letter from my partners solicitor detailing that his employers have admitted full liability and that we are in the final stages of finalising the claim. He has been out of work 3 yrs and I have pointed out to the mortgage company that loss of earnings alone will guarantee that the arrears will be cleared. This is still not good enough for them. I was just wondering if any people could give me any advice. We are expecting a court date any day now and would like to know if this letter from my partners solicitors will carry any weight in regards to our defence. I also am thinking about using the Norgan case to use as our defence. Is there anything else I can do? Is there anymore information that I would need relating to my partners claim to give the judge that would help him rule in our favour?

I have heard they sell the car at auction and you are then responsible for the difference. Yet people have told me that they just don’t pay the bank back, and it goes off your credit report in 7 years. What exactly will the bank do to retrieve what you owe? Can a lean be placed on your home, can they take you to court, etc?

I cannot seem to be able to afford my car anymore, it is $495 a month. And I don’t want to stress myself with payments anymore and just accept circumstances. I know millions of people are in such predicament. If I buy a cash car, how long in how exactly would such repo affect my life? Since millions are losing cars and homes, at some point lenders will still have to sell homes to those with flawed credit to sell at all.
Should I cut my losses now?

Regarding credit, what is actually required to obtain an FHA loan? My husband had an auto repossession that was making it difficult for us to get an FHA loan, but he just got it paid off this week. Now our broker is telling us that FHA won’t accept any open collections on his credit record. Does that make any sense to you at all?? Isn’t FHA first time home buyer programs for people with low income or poor credit??
I just wanted to add, that per the FHA website, a person who’s filed bankruptcy can obtain a loan, so it makes no sense to me that someone with about $1,000 in open collections can not get one.

I will go to court with lloyds tsb over this, do I have a case? is there any similar cases I can refer too where people have been successful against banks in the uk? we were given no legal advice and no time to take it as we were bullied into signing to secure a business debt with the threat of quote the bank puuling the plug otherwise old son!
